Severino

Severino de Oliveira, known as Severino, is a self-taught artist from Rio de Janeiro who turns discarded aluminum cans into small, detailed dioramas. Known for his "Lata-Arte," he hand-paints and assembles three-dimensional scenes that often honor Brazilian spiritual icons and the natural beauty of the coast. Each piece works as a kind of shrine, built entirely from recycled materials. It's arte popular in the truest sense: colorful, resourceful, and rooted in Rio's cultural and religious life.
