Leticia Aguilar is a prominent third-generation ceramicist from Ocotlán de Morelos, Oaxaca, and the daughter of the world-renowned folk artist Josefina Aguilar. Continuing her family’s legacy, she hand-sculpts vibrant "muñecas" and polychrome clay figures that depict the many facets of womanhood, indigenous myths, and daily rural life. Her work is celebrated for its exceptional attention to detail, emotionally expressive faces, and a signature use of bright colors that transform raw Oaxacan earth into whimsical, award-winning sculptures.
